Mahatma Gandhi University established School of Computer Sciences in the year 1990 with an objective to impart higher education and research in the field of Computer Science and thereby to meet the increasing demand for high quality, well-trained computer professionals in the country. The first programme offered by the School, MSc in Computer Science was started in the year 1993  under the leadership of Prof.(Dr.) K.N. Ramachandran Nair, the founder-director of the School.
